TAN REMOVAL & YEAR ROUND SKIN CARE
TAN REMOVAL
While you will be left with a natural, brown suntan color post contest, you can aid in a smooth removal of the product by getting back on your daily skin care regimen.
Post show, gently exfoliate with your exfoliant and follow up with moisturizer. This process will gradually remove the product while taking care of your skin in the process. Remember, do NOT harshly exfoliate.
YEAR ROUND SKIN CARE
DAILY SKIN CARE - taking care of your skin year round is a habit all competitors should implement. GENTLY exfoliate your skin in the shower regularly to remove dead skin cells which creates a smooth surface for your tan. Don’t forget your back, neck and armpits.
EXFOLIATE - again, GENTLY exfoliate with every shower using a fragrance free, oil-free body wash and exfoliation gloves. Do NOT exfoliate too harshly. Overexfoliating can cause irritation on the skin, little scratches, and excessive dryness. The spray tan product settles in the damaged areas, resulting in an uneven tan.
MOISTURIZE - apply moisturizer immediately following shower and exfoliation. Moisturizer will nourish the skin and keep it hydrated. Avoid parabens, sulfates, fragrance and oils in your body wash and moisturizer.
WHAT TO AVOID - do NOT use bar soap, Dove soap, or other body wash that is creamy. Avoid products labeled "renewing," "regenerating," "anti-aging," or "anti-acne". They have ingredients in them that will not allow the tanning product to absorb and develop on the skin.

Getting a spray tan for a your show is a multi-step process and should be considered an important part of your contest prep.
Leaving tan-related preparations to the last minute can create unnecessary stress on show day and possibly even hinder your placing on stage.
Focusing on daily skin care to moisturize and regulate your skins pH balance is a must to achieve a dark and balanced tan that doesn’t turn green.
If you’re considering stepping on stage, give your skin and the tanning process the respect it deserves.
